GOOD TO KNOW

Questions customers ask

Open a question to see the answer.

Why should mild steel be primed before applying Anti-Rust PU Enamel?
The application guide specifies Jewell Red Oxide Primer for mild steel before the enamel topcoat, helping prepare the surface for the protective coating system.
Can the same primer be used on wood and metal?
No. Use Jewell White Primer for wooden and wall surfaces, and Jewell Red Oxide Primer for mild steel.
How much thinner should be added to the enamel?
It is recommended to add approximately 250-400 ml of Mineral Turpentine Oil per litre of Anti-Rust PU Enamel.
Why should base-paint shades not be over-diluted?
It is advised to avoid dilution for shades made from base paint where proper colour depth needs to be maintained.
Can I apply the enamel directly over dents or damaged areas?
No. The application guide recommends filling dents first, allowing the filler to dry, sanding, and applying primer before the topcoat.
How long should I wait between the two enamel coats?
The stated interval between successive coats is approximately 6-8 hours.
